History
On This page I would like to tell the story about our 303 Squadron name. This name is historical and it was the combat assignation for the most efficient Royal Air Force squadron during the Battle of Britain. As a part of 11th Fighter Group this Squadron scored the biggest number of enemy aircraft. What is more interesting for me is the fact that this unit was a fully Polish manned Squadron.
By the end of WW II the Royal Air Force had 17 Polish Squadrons with about 25 thousand airmen in service. Today not many people know that it was the biggest support for struggling with Nazi forces Royal Air Force. Not many monuments remain to remember these heroic days. Not many of Polish airmen returned to Poland after the war. Poland fallen from Nazi occupation to the communists occupation, which was even much longer and also took the lives of many of most patriotic Poles. On the above picture we can see the monument for the memory of Polish Fallen Airmen in Northolt - today part of Greater London. On the side of a busy cross road a lonely eagle from the top of the monument tries to soar the sky in the memory of the Polish Pilots. Personally I believe, that we are responsible for the preservation of such memories and we have to remember our roots. There is many ways of preserving memories. My way is to run a flying school which has the name of most famous Polish Squadron but also will preserve the spirit of the real Squadron and values for which They lived and died.
